Located on a small slope if you walk in the direction from Plaza de Armas Huaraz to Iglesia Del Señor De La Soledad. About 10 mins walk from Plaza de Armas, and after getting the ice cream you can choose to sit in the store or move to the park in front of Iglesia Del Señor De La Soledad to enjoy some sunshine in the afternoon or do random people-watching of local life.

The ice cream shop is decorated with light blue color signs, which by seeing already makes people feel cooler (in the summer). The shop has a great variety of flavors which are divided into crema (cream), sorbetto (sorbet), and con alcohol (with alcohol). You can ask for a small sample to taste to help decide when they’re not very busy. Also, you can choose the container to be a corn or a cup.

My Japanese friend, Takeru-san, took me and another Japanese friend to this place the first day I arrived in Huaraz. Ever since I was thinking about the ice cream from the shop almost every day. However, due to the fact that I was most of the time away for tours or hikes so missed the best day timing to eat ice cream. As a result, when I finally got a chance to have several hours chilling in town after the Mateo ice-climbing day trip and before my night bus leaving for Lima. I visited the shop TWICE (call me crazy haha!) — right after back to the town of Huaraz from Mateo and right after a quick dinner in between ice cream. Finally, I was very satisfied to leave and that’s the perfect ending to my 10 days trip in Huaraz 😋

The following photos are proof of my happy moments! After trying several flavors, my favorite combinations are Maracuya + Queso (passion fruit and cheese) and Chocolate + Pie de Limón (lemon pie). Other flavors I’ve tried and really love are Cappucino and Berry Mix. The texture of Whisky is light but you can still taste the alcohol, and the sweetness part somehow tastes like rice alcohol sweetness from past experience to me. Coco is very coco and Pistacho is very Pistachio, both are creamy, strong, and thick. If you’re a fan of pistachio flavor ice cream I can guarantee you’ll be very happy with it.

*Tip: I usually pick 2 balls from different categories, 1 creamy and 1 sour, to create a good balance to avoid taste fatigue.

Here are some basic vocabularies you might need to know in order to order:

  • 🍦 Cono → Corn
  • 🍨 Vaso (or frequently they say “Vasito”) → Cup

Here’s the menu:

Now are you ready to order?

Hope y’all enjoy the ice cream! 😇🍦
